It’s a common saying in many fields:
Given Good, Fast, and Cheap, you can pick any 2 out of 3.
- If you pick Good and Fast — it will be expensive.
- If you pick Good and Cheap — it will take time.
- If you pick Cheap and Fast — it will be poor quality.
At iCaspar, I insist that Good be in the equation of every project. I refuse to build crap.
Every project gets my best effort, and I insist that everyone on the iCaspar team do the same. I also understand that every project has budget and time constraints.
You know best what the time and budget boundaries are for your project. iCaspar does projects on a retainer basis because ongoing website development needs to be flexible and dependable. You can choose the level of retainer that suits your project.
For small businesses and price-sensitive non-profits with tight margins, especially, I recommend the slow and steady option. For new projects, you can start with a higher but affordable number of monthly hours, then back down to a less demanding retainer once the essential pieces are in place to develop the nice-to-haves and items farther down the wish-list. Over time, drip-by-drip, small businesses and non-profits can have best-in-class websites.
For mid-size to larger businesses and organizations ready to commit to excellence online, retainer rates are discounted for longer-term, higher hour commitments.
The minimum retainer is 1 hr/month (Continuous Site Care Retainer) and retainers must be contracted in whole hour increments.
- 1 – 20 hrs / month — $75 per hr.
- 21 – 30 hrs / month — $70 per hr (minimum 1 year commitment)
- 31+ hrs / month — $65 per hr (minimum 1 year commitment)
While most websites are best served by a plan for Continuous Website Development, iCaspar Web Development can provide hourly rate services for some small, specific fixes, consulting, or troubleshooting issues. The current hourly rate is $100, billed weekly.
